Vande Bharat coaches are manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Perambur, Chennai. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced during the National Railways Award ceremony that 4–5 Vande Bharat trains would be flagged off every month from September, with ICF targeting 75 new Vande Bharat trains by August 2023 for Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. At the time, two Vande Bharat trains were running on the New Delhi–Varanasi and New Delhi–Vaishnodevi Katra routes.

Tamil Nadu signed an MoU with IPPB (India Post Payments Bank) to collect digital life certificates from pensioners through doorstep services of the Postal Department at a cost of ₹70 per certificate. The MoU was signed in the presence of Tamil Nadu Finance Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan and Finance Secretary N. Muruganandam. IPPB was founded on September 1, 2018, and operates under India Post, Union Ministry of Communications, headquartered in New Delhi.
