The Philippine Sea is the largest sea in the world, covering an area of approximately 5.695 million km² in the western Pacific Ocean. It borders the Philippines, Japan, Taiwan, and other Pacific island nations. The Mediterranean Sea (2.5 million km²) and the Caribbean Sea (2.75 million km²) are significantly smaller.
