He accidently dropped a mixture of rubber and sulfur on a hot stove and found the mixture to be flexible and tough led to the discovery of vulcanization process. The other processes mentioned aren't a part of his discovery. Polymerization is addition of monomer units, Liquefaction is conversion of a solid to liquid, and Sublimation is the direct conversion of solid to gas.
